Process: continuous contributions

If your leave is covered under the Employment Standards Act (ESA), you may be able to make multiple payments while you’re on leave.

  1. Check your eligibility

Review which leaves you can buy and submit your application by the deadline; within 30 days of starting your leave.

  2. Complete the application

Download the Purchase of Service Application and complete Part A.

Under “Payment options,” select “Continuous contributions”

  3. Send the application to your employer

Your employer completes Part B and submits the application to the plan.

  4. Review your statements

Approximately once a month, you’ll receive a Statement of Cost. You’ll get an email when your statement is available in My Account Message Centre. If you’re not registered for My Account, we’ll mail it to you.

    Each statement will show:

    • The amount owing
    • Payment options
    • Due date
  5. Make payments

Send payment to the plan within 30 days of each statement, until your leave ends.

You are responsible for making each payment; your employer cannot do this for you.

If you miss a due date, the statements will stop and you will no longer be eligible to make continuous contributions.

Once we process your payment, the service will be visible in My Account under Service and salary summary.

Continuous contributions may not be required for any ESA leave under 30 days.
