Stable today, secure tomorrow: Your cost-of-living adjustment is 2.1 per cent
Message from trustees
Your pension is designed to support you through retirement, even as the cost of living changes. The board has approved a 2.1 per cent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) effective January 1, 2026. This increase helps your pension keep its value over time. In this article, you’ll find details about how your COLA is calculated, how it applies if you recently retired and how it helps protect the long-term value of your pension.

Health care and dental rates
The Municipal Retiree Benefit Trust (MRBT) offers optional extended health and dental coverage to retired members of the plan. These group benefits are designed to complement provincial healthcare and provide cost-effective, meaningful support—helping you access the care you need throughout retirement.
These new monthly rates are in effect as of February 1, 2026. They are reflected in the deductions from your January pension payment and may change at any time.
