Seeking Health Coverage in Retirement
The Municipal Retiree Benefit Trust (MRBT) supports more than 90,000 retired members of the Municipal Pension Plan (MPP) with access to extended health and dental benefits. We are committed to the long-term sustainability of the health benefits plan, supporting current and future retirees.

BC General Employees’ Union labour disruption
We are monitoring the ongoing situation between the government and the BC General Employees' Union. If there's a labour disruption, some of our services may be affected.
Be assured that we have processes in place. Essential services, including pension payments, will continue without interruption.
If you haven’t registered for My Account, we encourage you to do so. My Account offers a secure way to communicate with us through Message Centre, check the status of your request, and send documents securely.

Self-service status inquiry
Our newest online service allows you to check the status of your service requests quickly and easily, anytime. Simply sign in to My Account and use Message Centre to review the progress of any requests within the last 365 days.
Canada Post disruption
Due to the Canada Post overtime ban, mail delivery of important pension information may be delayed. We won’t be couriering documents.
We continue to serve you online through My Account. Register or sign in to My Account and opt in to digital communications. It’s fast, secure, and lets you access your pension information, apply to retire online and send paperwork securely anytime.

Most plan members are not eligible to participate in the Canadian Dental Care Plan
If you are considering cancelling or declining dental coverage under the Municipal Retiree Benefit Trust (MRBT) to enrol in the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), please note that most Municipal Pension Plan members are not eligible to participate in the CDCP. Furthermore, if you cancel dental coverage, you will not be eligible to re-enrol under the terms of the MRBT dental plan.
