About the Pension Corporation

What we do | Who we serve

We provide pension services to British Columbia’s College, Municipal, Public Service and Teachers’ pension boards of trustees, WorkSafeBC, more than 1000 plan employers and just over 426,000 active and retired plan members.

Figures below are as of March 31, 2011.

The College Pension Plan serves about 17,200 active members and retirees from most of the publicly funded post-secondary institutions in British Columbia.

The Municipal Pension Plan has about 235,800 active members and retirees in British Columbia. Members come from a variety of sectors across the province, including health, municipalities, school districts and others. The plan is the sixth largest defined benefit pension plan in Canada.

The Public Service Pension Plan serves about 93,500 active members and retirees in BC’s public sector. The plan is the seventh largest defined benefit pension plan in Canada.

The Teachers’ Pension Plan serves about 75,700 active members and retirees from all school districts across British Columbia. The plan is the 10th largest defined benefit pension plan in Canada.

The WorkSafeBC Pension Plan is a single-employer plan that serves eligible employees of WorkSafeBC. The plan has about 4,300 active, inactive and retired members.
